I have to say it is a passion when you do what you love, its not work.I hand make all my leather craft and have been doing so for over twenty yrs and I love it.People think they have to run out to the store for everything they need in daily life.They are so used to instant that they forget there are many hand crafters out there that would love to make something and put their heart and soul into it.
People making their goods not just for sale but for their daily use are the true crafters, those of us not only making it to put out there but using it day to day.Moccasins,bags,clothing and yes jewlery is hand made for use not to just be taken out for one day only.That is as long as it isnt something that was made for a specific purpose.Then that is understandable, but hand made is far better than anything I have seen store and factory made.Leather is the original clothing and lasts a long time and is easy to fix and keep going.
The stores are fast out numbering us hand crafters but we will always keep doing what we love and making what we make for others and ourselves. Remeber that when you see something you'd like to get and just remember there is prob someone out there that makes it or knows who does.And check out your local crafters when you find them, they are always willing to help.
We live off what we make most of us so remember that hand made is just as good as store made.
